$10-million property Believed To Be Illegal Casino

A Toronto real estate tycoon said to be worth billions of dollars is at the centre of charges against him for illegal gambling.

Wei Wei and his wife are facing criminal charges for running what police say is a national crime organisation operating casinos in huge mansions in Ontario and Toronto. This follows the recent raid on one of Wei Wei where 11 weapons, ammunition and $1 million in cash was seized along with 45 arrests made.

The police say that Wei Wei is connected to organised crime gangs, money laundering and running illegal casinos inside huge sprawling mansions where $20,000 per hand in baccarat betting is the norm.

In the raid on 5 DeCourcy Court, a $10-million property believed to be Canada’s largest-ever illegal casino, police say that there was even a high-end restaurant for gamblers with its own maitre ‘d, where families where found to be dining while gambling was taking place.

Police also say that they believe along with cash gambling cryptocurrency was used to place bets.

Both Wei Wei and his Wei are due in court in early November and deny all charges against them.
