Macau Visitors Up For CNY

Macau reported that visitors for the Chinese New Year Holiday period (February 15 to February 18  inclusive) rose by 10% compared to last year with the total at 500,404 from official figures released from the Macao Government Tourism Office.

In total 70.8% of those arrivals came from mainland China totalling 354,047, which represents a rise of 18.5% compared to that of last year.

The Chinese New Year holiday period is a critical period for Macau Casino Operators as hundreds of thousands of mainland Chinese enjoy the week long holiday. The totals given are from measured the number of tourists passing through border checkpoints around the city.
