888Poker & ChiliPoker amongs others blocked

The Belgian government have followed through on their threats to block unlicensed operators from accessing the Belgian online gambling market by black listing major internet gambling companies like Chilipoker, Titan, Everest Poker & 888, according to Belgium press reports.

The blacklistings have apparently been communicated to Belgium’s main Internet Service Providers, who will now be required under the country’s new regulatory regime to block access by Belgian residents.

There are reports that Bwin.party digital entertainment evaded inclusion on the black list despite the size of its Party Poker operation. Understood to be because the internet gambling giant has indicated an intention to license despite its earlier protestations that the Belgian regulations are in conflict with European Union principles & law.
