Pennsylvania anti-gambling bill introduced

PennsylvaniaAs Michigan pushes forward with their online gambling bill, Pennsylvania has hit a problem with State Representative Thomas Murt introducing a bill to ban online gambling in the state, the ‘Banning Internet Gambling in Pennsylvania Act’ has the support so far of four co-sponsors and could de-rail the progress of internet gambling in the state.


Bill HB 801 would make it law that the Gaming Control Board in the state “shall not promulgate rules and regulations allowing any form of internet gambling”.


The bill contains a list of fines and jail time for those offering online gambling to residents in Pennsylvania and is due to be discussed at the next hearing of the House Gaming Oversight Committee on March 28.
