Mystery Hong Kong investor buys 11% of Amaya shares

Following the sell-off of shares by former Chief Executive and founder of Amaya David Baazov who is awaiting trial in Canada on charges of insider trading another mystery figure enters Amaya by now owning some 11% of the company that runs the worlds largest online poker site PokerStars.
A very wealthy and very private Hong Kong businessman Tang Hao purchased just over 9 million shares in Amaya taking his total amount of interest in the firm to 11% with his investment company Discovery Key Investments Limited.
Little if anything is known of the wealthy Mr Hao and his ideas on Amaya, some poker forums believe he is a very big poker player in Asia, others speculate he has plans to move Amaya and PokerStars more into Asia but the truth is no-one knows why the purchase has been made.
It could very well be just an investment said one gaming consultant to the iGaming Post especially as Amaya are looking to expand even further into sports betting with potential acquisitions.
Observers in the company will now be watching carefully to see if Mr Hao makes any further investments into Amaya over the coming weeks and months.
