Sustainable Business Council (SBC) is an organization advocating sustainable and better ways of doing business in New Zealand. SBC organizes annual networking events, seminars, and conferences to discuss sustainable leadership, social impact, climate and resources, consumer decision making, and ecosystem health.

But this year, it’s going to add an Italian touch at Betting on Football 2017, the biggest event of the sports betting industry. SBC Events will participate in Betting on Football 2017 with an Italian profile featuring RCS Media Group, AC Milan, and SNAI.

Betting on Football will be held on 3rd to 5th May at Stamford Bridge, London. It has covered the Italian betting market every year since it’s inception in 2014 with the aid of lawyer Quirino Mancini. SBC events will be presenting him to talk about the balance between online and retail activities in the Italian market.

Italian gambling market: The largest in Europe

Over the past decade, Italy’s gambling market has undergone a tremendous change, thanks to constant deregulation of betting rules. The Italian gambling market is the second largest in Europe, contributing billions towards the country’s revenue. Despite the solid growth in casino and sports betting activities, there is still a low penetration in the mobile markets. Moreover, online poker and horse racing have experienced a sharp fall in profits.

Betting on Football 2017 would highlight the latest developments in the Italian gambling market. AC Milan CCO Jaap Kalma, SNAI CEO Fabio Schiavolin, and Gazzetta dello Sport’s publisher and senior director of RCS Media Group, Francesco Carione, will be a part of the #bofcon2017 panel. The trio will be discussing the shift in the gambling market and their focus on the online and mobile betting landscape. They would also be talking about the strong growth opportunity for sports betting, which accounted for €192m to €347m GGR from 2013-16.

The panel sees a strong potential favoring industry consolidation after the merger between Cogemat and SNAI. They would also discuss synergies between gaming, sports and media, and how Series A clubs have reacted to their decreasing commercial revenue compared to their European counterparts. Jaap Kalma highlights the fact that sports betting is a partner for football and how Betting on Football enhances the fun of watching a game.

“Italy- developing with the market”, the market profile moderated by Mancini and sponsored by Tonucci & Partners will receive virtual sports within Italy and highlight the effect of a tendering process for awarding 15,000 betting shop and 120 online gaming licenses.
