Stratosphere Casino sold to Golden Entertainment
Golden Entertainment has purchased the Las Vegas iconic Stratosphere Casino as part of a deal worth $850 million. American Casino & Entertainment Properties sold both the Stratosphere Casino along with Nevada based Arizona Charlie’s Decatur, Arizona Charlie’s Boulder and the Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin.
The deal is set to be finalised later in the year and will expand the Golden Entertainment portfolio to eight casinos with a total of 15,800 slots, 114 table games with 5,100 hotel rooms.
Golden’s chairman and CEO Blake Sartini called the acquisition “a transformational event” for his company that presents “several opportunities to cross-market and promote these new assets that we welcome to the Golden family.”
