Auction for Pennsylvania Casino Licenses in January
The first 10 new satellite style casino licenses in Pennsylvania are up for auction starting 10th January 2018 with the current casino operators in the state having preferred options on them.
State Gambling Regulators will hold the auction in early January but those new satellite casinos are not permitted within a 25 mile radius of current casinos along with nearly 400 local areas that are banning them also.
In May there will be a further 9 small casino licenses up for grabs following State lawmakers passing new gambling expansion laws that also include allowing for online gambling.
Anyone applying for a small casino license will have to pay a minimum of $7.5 million which would allow for up to a maximum of 750 slot machines and 30 gaming tables.
Once a winning bid is announced the location of that casino will also be announced at the same time.
The auction is expected to attract significant interest regulators believe.
