Betsson have announced they are shedding some 160 jobs with 130 of them in their Malta offices, with according to reports 48 of those being Maltese nationals.
The CEO of the Malta Division Jesper Svensson told the Times of Malta Newspaper that the reasoning for the restructuring was their rapid acquisition strategy and said the restructuring would make the company more efficient.
Pontus Lindwall the Betsson International CEO said, “In cooperation with the operational management team, we have started to implement actions to improve operations. The restructured organisation will be more streamlined with clearer responsibilities, which I believe will improve its efficiency over time.”
