Australian casino company Crown Resorts has been told officially by the New South Wales Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority (ILGA), the regulator for the gaming sector that Crown is no longer suitable to hold a gaming license in Sydney.

The devastating news that really comes as no surprise as the recent inquiry into Crown Resorts recommended that the casino operator not be granted a license for their $2.2 billion resort in Sydney.

Even with the departure of its CEO Ken Barton yesterday it did not help Crown survive this scathing report that said the operator had serious flaws in its governance towards money laundering and organised crime within its VIP business.

Crown said it would work hard with the regulator to ensure it complies with all recommendations, however it is not now clear if and when the casino company can ever gain a license for the Sydney resort.
