Caesars Entertainment has said that they expect to complete the purchase of William Hill by 1st April, in an announcement today through William Hill that it will acquire the full stock of the betting company at £2.72 totalling £2.9 billion by the second quarter of 2021.

Back in September the US casino giant made a bid for the UK bookmaker and was approved by shareholders in November following an offer also from Apollo Global but shareholders decided the future of William Hill had more opportunities in the US sports betting business with Caesars.

There are still some regulator approvals to go in the US but Caesars say that they expect these to be finalised by the end of March and the acquisition of all shares from William Hill to Caesars by the start of April.

Caesars has always stated that they are only interested in the William Hill US sports betting business and plan to sell off all other parts of William Hill.

Some insiders claim that those assets of William Hill have already been agreed to be sold to other parties, however no official announcement has been made and not expected to be until the completion of the sale in early April.
