ICE Gaming Expo to Relocate?

Rumours on the future of the ICE Exhibition in London have been circulating for months, with the belief in some quarters that 2023 will be the last of its kind in the UK capital.
The exhibition that has been in London for decades and was originally just for the land-based gambling and amusement sector but has grown massively since the expansion of online gambling.
But the biggest indication yet that what Clarion calls “the biggest gaming expo in the World,” could be set for a move following comments by its managing director Stuart Hunter.
In a recent podcast broadcast by Clarion that the company were looking at options to re-locate the event into Europe and also in discussion with InterGame the publication said that Hunter indicated the ICE London venue was up for review.
Two locations that are being considered is Barcelona and Madrid, but neither are confirmed yet and Hunter explained that whatever happens the show will not relocate till 2025.
Even thou the ICE Expo has grown with the help of the online gambling sector many believe it is the largest exhibitor at ICE Novomatic that is pushing for a change in location.
With the UK now not part of the EU following the Brexit of the country, suppliers such as Novomatic find the rising costs of importing and exporting materials into and out of London a huge burden.
When asked by the iGaming Post to online gaming companies they seem happy with London but have called in the past for a change of date into Spring or Summer.
But it is the larger land-based suppliers that seem to want a move away from the iconic London location to a sunnier European venue.
