Missouri lawmakers has seen sports betting Bill HB 581 again been placed on the legislative session this time hoping for more success. The Bill will now be assigned a committee for further discussions before being passed for a vote.

Missouri representative Christofanelli who filed the Bill said: “Sports betting in Missouri is already happening,” He went on to say. “Missourians frequently cross state lines to place bets or go through online avenues that don’t bring the state any revenue. Legalizing sports betting is a common-sense issue. I hope this is the year we can get this done so we can give Missourians more personal freedom and bring more revenue to our state.”

Meanwhile another sports betting Bill 556 has been entered by State Rep. Dan Houx, both Bills have a similar structure on tax for the state and it is hoped this year will see sports betting legalised as many of its own neighbouring states already have legalised sports betting.

Last year another Bill failed because it did not include Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs) when SB1 entered by Senator Danny Hoskins had trouble with casinos operators on VLT’s.
