Aristocrat Says Gopher Offer Not Certain For Playtech

Aristocrat the giant Australian gaming machine manufacturer has said in a letter to Playtech shareholders that they should go with their offer of £2.7 billion and not wait for a possible bigger offer from investment firm Gopher.

Indeed Aristocrat said that there is no certainty that Gopher Investments will make a firm offer for the online technology company. It was reported over the weekend that the investment firm who had built up a 4.97% stake in Playtech over the last year were ready to offer £3 billion for the iGaming technology company.

Playtech has already advised shareholders to accept the Aristocrat offer but this new improved offer will certainly make the management and shareholders consider and Gopher has already requested to seek due diligence to make that confirmed offer to Playtech.

In a statement to the Stock exchange on the Playtech deal Aristocrat Leisure said: “Aristocrat’s long-term engagement with regulators across key gaming jurisdictions, together with strong financial fundamentals, deep customer relationships and established presence in global gaming markets, positions Aristocrat to complete the transaction as planned in the second quarter of calendar year 2022,” It went on to say. “Aristocrat believes that this will provide certain value to Playtech shareholders, while the combined group will also provide greater opportunities to Playtech employees.”
