Atlantic City report near 5% drop in August revenues

Atlantic City suffered another fall in revenues for August with nearly a 5% drop with the decline put down to customers winnings higher than normal for the gambling city.

With revenues for August at $298.1 million the figure is down 4.8% for the same period in 2012.

Table games revenues were $78.6 million, down a massive 10.5% from 2012 figures, with the state Division of Gaming Enforcement says the casinos fared worse at table games than in many previous years.

There was little good news on the figures with Slot machine revenues at $219.5 million, down 2.6% from 2012.

Of the 12 casinos in Atlantic City, 9 of them saw revenues drop in August from last year’s results. The biggest loser was Harrah’s Resort down a massive 18% to just $32.8 million. The much famed Atlantic Club Casino which has been involved in PokerStars acquisition then following court cases to withdraw from the purchase along with rumours of new buyers was down 1.7% in revenues from 2012 to now just $14.5 million.

Overall for the casinos in Atlantic City the first 8 months of 2013 has seen a drop of 9% in total revenues compared to 2012.
