Council employees blocked from online gambling sites

It seems that Cornwall Council employees have too much time on their hands as the council have had to block online casino, online adult dating, porn sites and even Auto Trader and Amazon from being accessed by their workers as a recent review found those sites being visited the most.

The council recently had an IT team review the websites visited by their employees during working hours and found some interesting facts, according to a report in the Cornishman newspaper.

According to the stats, between February 1 and May 6 council staff were prevented from viewing 3,583 web pages containing “adult material” and more than 4,600 sites identified as “tasteless” by firewalls. In the same three-month period they were blocked from viewing 24,600 pages linked to gambling sites and 12,500 dating sites, the data showed.
