Credit Card Use Banned For Gambling By Bank Australia

The Bank Australia has joined the list of credit card issuers that will from December ban all transactions linked to gaming and gambling, currently Macquarie Bank, Suncorp, Bank of Queensland and CUA have banned the use of its card for such transactions and now Bank Australia has done the same.

However some supporters of online gambling in the country questioned the move asking if this is removing the right of people to decide how to spend their money with one such person on twitter saying, “will unhealthy foods be next, will McDonalds be banned?”

Bank Australia said on the move: “We’ve engaged with our stakeholders and tested our position through research with customers, the overwhelming majority of whom support blocking gambling transactions on credit cards.”
