Crown Resorts “Not Fit For Casino License”

Crown Resorts are not a “suitable person” to hold a gaming license, that were the damning words from Counsel assisting Adam Bell, SC during closing submissions into the enquiry on Crown Resorts and indeed if they should be given a license for their 2.2 billion casino at Barangaroo Sydney.

In fact the counsel said that they should not be allowed licenses for their casinos in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth as it currently stands, with a major criticism of how major shareholder James Packer and the company currently operate.

Following the first day of closing submissions into an enquiry that has lasted some 48 days, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said she was taking legal advice before asking Crown to possibly delay the December opening of their billion dollar resort.

“I will get advice and make a decision according to what’s in the best interest of our citizens,” Ms Berejiklian said at a press conference.

Mr Bell commenting on the actions of Crown in relation to breaking regulatory agreements said, “It can only lead to a conclusion of unsuitability.”

Many see the only way for Crown to survive losing their licenses is for James Packer to sell his involvement in the company, but that might not even be enough.
