Jette Nygaard-Andersen boss of Entain
Following on from the announcement by Entain regarding the purchase of Angstrom Sports the US data analysis company that will enhance the speed of Entain in providing sporting odds in the country for £203 million, many observers and analysts believe the company is buying smart at present.
Prior to the Angstrom acquisition Entain which operates brands such as Coral, Ladbrokes and Sportingbet with 30,000 employees, it acquired Poland’s leading sports betting business STS Holdings for £750 million in a move that shows the company is not only focussing on the US market.
At present the Entain share price is not reflecting positively on both deals at present showing a drop of 1.6% on its share value but the London listed company will over the next few months rise sharply according to analysts.
Entain chief executive Jette Nygaard-Andersen, said on the most recent deal, “This acquisition will provide our customers with an unrivalled sports betting experience underpinned by enhanced data analytics, a global platform and a market-leading brand.”
There are rumours which are not substantiated that MGM Resorts who has a partnership with Entain in the US with BetMGM and who pulled out of a deal to acquire Entain two years ago for £8 billion will eventually come in again for the London based firm, however it will significantly be valued more now should the US gaming giant want to make an offer.
