Entain Chief Concerned Over Sporting Sponsorship

The Chief Executive Officer of Entain, Jette Nygaard-Andersen has said that the company is preparing for stricter rules when eventually the UK Governments White Paper is published.

In a report by Bloomberg the company is getting ready for future restrictions including the possible banning of gambling companies in the sporting world. Entain who operates both Ladbrokes and Coral betting shops, said that It’s a scenario that clubs and football leagues would “like to avoid,” especially as Entain already sponsors a varied amount of sports.

Over two years ago now the UK Government launched the review into gambling however domestic and international issues have continued to delay the publication. Only this week the UK announced a new Prime Minister In Liz Truss and the new leader has only announced her minister to be responsible for the gambling industry in the form of Michelle Donelan.

Many political observers believe that with current issues including the energy crisis and the war in Ukraine no White Paper will be published until next year.
