Entain Considers Requesting Bonus Payments Returned

A recent article from the Sunday Times is reporting that Entain the company that operates Coral, Ladbrokes, bwin, sportingbet and has a half share in US sports betting company BetMGM is considering if it can retrieve the millions in bonuses paid to Kenny Alexander and other former senior executives.

The reason is the almost £600 million fine Entain expect to receive from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in relation to the business the former incarnation of Entain being GVC when it offered gambling to Turkey.

At that time Kenny Alexander and other senior executives entered the Turkish market in 2011 which Entain sold in 2017.

However the current investigation by the HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) which will pass on to the CPS will determine the total amount.

Given that Alexander and others involved had received bonuses in the region of £82 million during that period the Sunday Times Newspaper is saying from sources it claims close to the company that Entain are now contemplating looking at the legal aspect of requesting those payments back.
