Full Tilt Poker Takeover this Friday?

It is hoped by many online poker players that the Groupe Bernard Tapie’s (GBT) takeover of Full Tilt Poker (FTP) may be finalized as early as Friday of this week.

At the end of February, GBT attorney Behnam Dayanim told PokerStrategy that the parties involved with the deal decided to extend its previous deadline. The deadline was extended to March 16th, now that date is rapidly upon us rumors have been circulating throughout the poker world that the deal may finally reach its conclusion.

Many online poker news sites claim that their sources are confident in the deal will be finalized by the March 16th deadline, however The iGaming Post is not so confident as the deadline approaches.

We have been informed that while negotiations and the due diligence is going well, there is still a chance that one last deadline extension may be necessary before the deal can be done.

Once and if the deal has been finalized, it has been estimated by many that it will take approximately one month before FTP2 can re-open for business, however certainly before this can happen, GBT would need to pay back all owed players or at least have the mechanism in place to have payments arranged.

This would seem to make the hoped for launch of FTP2 as early as month into the deal concluded, hopeful at best.

The iGaming Post hopes to have a conclusive statement on Friday to when the deal will be done and will of course keep you updated as and when that happens.
