Bob DeSalvio is one of the industry’s most experienced professionals, with more than four decades of experience. In particular he is renowned for his success in development and growth and it’s these skills that Genting are hoping to utilise with their New York casinos.

A prestigious career

Bob DeSalvio is one of the most respected names in the industry and it will viewed as a real coup for Genting to have secured his services.

Most recently he worked at Encore Boston Harbour, a Wynn development, where he was responsible for the staffing, development and opening of what has become the largest project in the whole of Massachusetts history.

In addition to holding a variety of leadership roles within the industry, DeSalvio has a proven track record in marketing, handling projects worth in excess of $1 billion. With a history that spans more than 41 years in the field, DeSalvio has assisted numerous brands reach their full potential.

Enormous New York development

The New York casinos that DeSalvio is taking over are already record-breaking but has ambitious plans to grow even further. Resorts World is the highest grossing slots casino globally and also has the enviable position of being the only casino in New York city.

The current development will see a 400-bed hotel open in the summer, in addition to its existing facilities. Despite being already one of the most profitable casinos in the world, Genting believe that the site has much more potential and believe that DeSalvio is the man to unlock this.

Bob DeSalvio will be assisted in his role by Edward Farrell who will remain as President of Genting Americas Inc. The President of World Resorts Casino New York City will continue to be Scott Molina but he will now report to DeSalvio.

The changes have been made since Genting acquired the parent company of Resorts World Catskills, Empire Resorts, was bought out in November by Genting. The CEO of Empire Resorts, Ryan Eller, will be stepping down from his position after a short handover period, as Genting begin to implement plans for their new acquisition.
