The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has announced it has suspended the operations of charity based lottery operator Capen as the regulator says it is conducting a review of the company as it says, “there are concerns that activities may have been carried out contrary to the Gambling Act, not in accordance with a condition of their licence and that the Licensee may be unsuitable to carry on the licensed activities.”

An investigation by the UKGC can only be carried out IF the regulator believes a breach or breaches have been committed in relation to the operators license and under section 116 of the Gambling Act of Great Britain.

Capen received its operating license in 2014 and operates brands such as The Little Lottery, The Sports Lotto and Zaffo.
