LVS Ponders $6 Billion Options For Expansion

Following the sale of all its properties in Las Vegas by Las Vegas Sands (LVS) analysts have been desperately trying to work out where LVS would place their new bets with $6.25 billion in their pocket from leaving Las Vegas.

Speculation centres around three options, the first being that LVS are seriously looking at the possibility of making a bid for Crown Resorts in Australia. The company controlled by James Packer is in serious need of a new owner and direction following the damaging enquiries already taken place and those to happen which threatens the company holding any gambling licenses.

The only stumbling block would be how LVS work with any VIP sector, following the damage those enquiries have done towards the VIP market and those who operate them.

The second option is that LVS spend the money on expanding their Singapore Resort to the tune of $3.3 billion without incurring debt for it and as such improve their share price.

Or thirdly the company could look to stay closer to home, expand their presence in US states with more casino resorts while at the same time moving into the burgeoning sports betting business.

The last option seems the most likely, working in a market they know well and now with their founder Sheldon Adelson passing away, the possibility of entering the online gambling sector could be the way to go for LVS.
