Macau GGR Close To Pre-Pandemic Levels

According to the latest figures for Macau’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) for the first 6 days of August it is tracking at MOP3.2 billion or $398 million, that equates to MOP533 a day so far. Which in itself is similar to July at MOP537 a day, analysts say that those numbers represent 90% of what the GGR was pre-pandemic levels in 2019.

That is good news for the industry there and it is now thought that by October this year GGR will be in-line with 2019 levels at 100% of that number.

It has been a struggle over the last two years plus for the industry with hard restrictions on travel and visas but if it is to be believed by the turn of the year analysts believe GGR in the gambling hub could surpass 2019 GGR and see continued growth through 2024.
