Macau announced its March revenues showing its highest revenue since January 2020 with MOP12.73 billion ($1.57 billion) representing a huge rise of 247% compared to the same month last year.

However the huge rise in revenues is still 50% lower than in March 2019 before the COVID pandemic. The Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ), which announces the official figures showed a strong performance overall for the month which was what analysts predicted of MOP34.64 billion ($4.29 billion), for the quarter, but although it was a strong quarter it still is some 54% lower than the first quarter in 2019.

But observers believe this is the beginning of a good year with expectations of full year earnings around 45% of that compared to 2019 numbers, but around MOP131.6 billion ($16.31 billion).
