Maryland Sports Betting Launch Beats Expectations
After what seems like an eternity, Maryland’s mobile sports betting platforms launched on Wednesday last week, just in time to reap the considerable commercial reward from a bumper weekend of sports action.
And with a huge sports schedule over the Thanksgiving weekend Maryland proved it was right to go for legalising sports betting.
The states sports books registered some 16.5 million betting transactions during the period to 27th November according to tracking firm GeoComply, that is very impressive given that a mature market such as New Jersey posted 17.1 million transactions for the same period.
