DraftKings continues to dominate the Massachusetts sports betting scene, significantly outpacing its competitors. The Boston-based sportsbook reported a staggering $447.5 million in wagers, generating $53.4 million in revenue. This performance represents a year-on-year increase of 22.7% in handle and 80.5% in revenue.
FanDuel, while trailing behind DraftKings, still managed to secure second position with a handle of $202.2 million and a revenue of $25.6 million. However, it experienced a year-on-year decline of 16.3% in handle, although revenue increased by 35.9%.
The overall handle for in-person and online betting was reported at $845.3 million, reflecting a decrease of 7.6% from November.
Sportsbooks in Massachusetts achieved a notable hold rate of 11.7%, the highest since June 2025. Encore Boston Harbor led the retail sports betting market with $5.7 million in wagers, although this figure was lower than most online sportsbooks.
Massachusetts recently secured a temporary injunction against Kalshi, a prediction platform. This ruling allows the state to block sports event contracts that Kalshi offers, which officials argue operate similarly to betting odds without the necessary licensing.
