Mobile Sports Betting Handle In New York Hits $2.15 Billion In April

April’s New York’s online sports betting market experienced an uptick, with total wagers reaching $2.15 billion. This figure marks a 9.1% increase compared to the same month last year, showing the growing popularity of mobile sports betting in the Empire State. Despite this growth, the total handle fell short of the $2.45 billion wagered in March, indicating a seasonal fluctuation in betting activity.

The New York State Gaming Commission reported that the revenue generated from sports betting in April amounted to $192.7 million. This represents a 4.7% increase year-on-year, showing a robust market despite the decline in total wagers compared to the previous month. The statewide hold for April was recorded at 8.95%, and tax contributions from sports betting reached over $98.3 million.

FanDuel regained its position as the leading operator in April. After briefly falling behind DraftKings in March, FanDuel reported $84.8 million in revenue from a handle of $822.5 million, achieving a hold of 10.31%.
