Brian Sandoval
Nevada and New Jersey governors Brian Sandoval and Chris Christie have been discussing the possibility of sharing each respective states player pools for online poker to help increase interest and competition in the game.
Already both states share a casino pool on jack pot slot machines which was agreed and went live in August this year, so although there are differences between the two games the structure and willingness to get an interstate agreement for online poker player pools is something both governors believe can happen.
A compact between Nevada and Delaware has already been agreed and will launch sometime in 2015, so the presumption that New Jersey will also join is nothing many observers will be surprised at given the small numbers of online players in all three states.
However when Nevada and Delaware launch their player pool sharing initiative it will be seen as a test run for not just New Jersey to join but for other states with similar small numbers of players and indeed those states with larger numbers of potential online gamblers joining in 2015.
