According to official figures from the Nevada Gaming Control Board, total sports betting handle reached $484.2 million in July 2026, representing a 15.5 percent increase compared to the same period in 2025. Top-line revenue remained largely unchanged, rising less than 1 percent year-over-year to $38 million.
The overall statewide hold rate – the percentage of total wagers retained by sportsbooks after paying out winning bets – settled at 7.84 percent, down from 9 percent recorded in July 2025. However, performance varied significantly across distribution channels:
Mobile Sportsbooks: Online channels generated $352 million in betting handle, representing 72.7 percent of all wagers placed statewide. Mobile operators recorded a hold rate of 10.6 percent, achieving the highest monthly win percentage for digital channels since the state began reporting mobile figures in 2020.
Retail Sportsbooks: Physical sports betting locations processed $132.2 million in wagers but generated less than $1 million in gross revenue, yielding a hold rate of 5.3 percent.
Performance trends differed across key commercial jurisdictions within the state. Clark County, which encompasses the Las Vegas market, accounted for $34.3 million of total statewide sports betting revenue. While wagering volume in Clark County grew by 14.2 percent year-over-year, total operator revenue declined by 2.4 percent due to a reduced hold rate of 7.6 percent.
In Washoe County, sportsbooks reported $2.5 million in revenue behind a hold rate of 11.9 percent, supported by a 36.7 percent year-over-year increase in wagering handle. Across the state, operator margins received additional support from the “other” sports category – which encompasses sports such as soccer – setting an all-time monthly revenue record, driven in part by international events including the knockout rounds of the World Cup.
