Pennsylvania Marks Historic Year for Online Gaming in 2025

Online gaming in Pennsylvania has reached new heights, with the state’s iGaming sector achieving $3.46 billion in gross revenue for the year 2025. This figure not only marks a significant increase from previous years but also positions Pennsylvania as a leader in the online casino market across the United States.

December 2025 was particularly noteworthy, as it closed the year with $324.3 million in revenue, surpassing the previous monthly record of $312.5 million set in October. The figure represents a 15.4% increase compared to December 2024, which recorded $281.2 million. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) said the growth is a combination of factors, including increased player engagement and the expansion of online gaming options.

The total revenue for Pennsylvania’s iGaming sector in 2025 reached $3,463,152,378, marking a 27.7% increase from the previous year’s total of $2.71 billion. This growth trajectory has solidified Pennsylvania’s position as the leading state for online casino revenue in the United States, outpacing competitors such as New Jersey and Michigan.

Comparison with Other States

In comparison, New Jersey’s online casinos reported a total revenue of $2.91 billion for 2025, while Michigan is expected to finish the year with around $3.05 billion. Pennsylvania stands out as the only state to achieve monthly revenues exceeding $300 million for three consecutive months.

The rise in online gaming revenue has also translated into significant tax contributions for the state. In December alone, Pennsylvania generated over $115 million in tax revenue from its online casinos. For the entirety of 2025, the state collected approximately $1.24 billion in tax revenue.
