SBObet waves goodbye to UK players

SBObet Sportsbook has informed its players via email that they will no longer be offering their services to UK players from the 15th September.

The company has pointed to the new impending legislation in the UK, the Gambling (Licensing and Advertising) Act is set to take effect on October 1 and requires all operators wishing to offer online gambling to UK gamblers to obtain a gaming license and also will be liable for a higher rate of tax which is putting off many overseas operators from the UK market.

UK based SBObet players are asked to withdraw their funds as soon as possible. Players who do not take action by September 30, 2014, will have their balances sent out to their last selected payment option. Outstanding bets will all be honoured.
