Sylebra Holdings has acquired a 9.3% stake in the gaming giant worth some $178 million but since the purchase of the shares the Hong Kong based firm has not supplied any details on their business that Scientific Games requires as part of their charter to ascertain their suitability of any shareholder that the company offer to US gaming regulators.
It is reported by CDC Gaming Reports that Sylebra Holdings has a large stake in a Russian company that has links to illegal gambling in Russia, is connected to money laundering and supporting terrorism.
Susan Cartwright the spokesperson for Scientific Games said, “Our company has now filed a lawsuit against Sylebra in Nevada state court asking for a ruling that Sylebra be required to provide us with the information we need to maintain the integrity and transparency our regulators expect and require of us.”
She went on to say, “Scientific Games takes very seriously our obligation to maintain the highest standard of integrity and transparency with our regulators in Nevada, across the United States and around the world,” Cartwright said. “As part of these efforts, we must be assured of the suitability of our major investors.”
