Las Vegas Sands has surprised analysts with their latest results from the Singapore resort showing an increase in profits compared to the third quarter.

Marina Bay Sands showed an increase of 106% from the previous quarter to $144 million, proving that the local market is helping to boost profits while tourists and foreign gamblers stay away because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

At present only Marina Bay Sands have posted their final yearly results with Genting Resort World Sentosa due on the 9th February but expectations are that the company will also show similar returns.

However analyst’s believe that the current situation is not sustainable by the local market who tend to play slots rather than table games.

At present Singapore has set up travel bubbles with local regions such as China, Brunei, Vietnam, Germany, Australia and New Zealand, but traffic from those regions is light to none at all.
