Three New Jersey Sports Betting Apps Now Available on App Store
Apple gave a green light to three New Jersey sports betting apps – playMGM, BestStars and 888 – earlier this week, making all three available on the App Store. This means that iPhone and iPad users can easily download these apps into their devices and start betting on sports events which are on the sports docket for the week, such as the National Football League (NFL).
The New Jersey mobile sports betting apps are now finally available to punters in the state, after having waited about a month after the opening of retail sportsbook operations. Since then, online as well as mobile sports betting have been doing extremely well in the sports betting market of the Garden State.
The availability of these sports betting apps on the Apple App Store is especially significant considering the fact that Apple recently had a crackdown on gambling and gambling-related apps available on their platform in various jurisdictions. Now that playMGM, Betstars and 888 are available on the iOS platform, it clearly shows that Apple is not opposed to gambling-related apps which are launched by incorporated, legitimate business entities and US gambling operators with required licensing.
Online and mobile sports betting churns out high revenue for New Jersey
Ever since the U.S Supreme Court struck down a law that prohibited sports betting nation-wide with the exception of Nevada, several states have made sports betting legal, welcoming various sportsbooks who have quickly set up shop in a number of locations in these states. Mississippi, West Virginia and Delaware have launched legal sports betting, while states like Pennsylvania and Rhode Island are in the process.
Currently, New Jersey is the only state in the U.S to have launched both mobile and online sports betting, and this has proven to be highly beneficial for the state. September, which was the first full month of professional and college football, saw high revenues from online and mobile sports betting, with the numbers surpassing that of the revenue gained from physical sportsbooks in New Jersey. With the availability of playMGM, 888 and BetStars on the App Store, there are now a total number of eight sports betting apps available for New Jersey punters. The other five include William Hill, Caesars Casino and Sports, FanDuel Sportsbook, SugarHouse Online Sportsbook & Casino, and DraftKings Sportsbook.
