UK Gambling Review Postponed Till Spring 2022

According to reports over the weekend from reliable sources the UK Gambling review which was due to be published before the end of this year will be postponed now till the Spring of 2022 at the earliest.

In the government’s initial pledge to review the entire gambling industry in the UK which is valued at £14 billion a year it was due in late 2019, but that got delayed till the end of 2021 and now it seems certain with the current situation with the Omicron virus that this will now be bumped into 2022.

Part of that review was to announce the new winner of the UK National Lottery but that also will be pushed into 2022.

Sources say part of the delay in due to the government’s latest reshuffle which saw John Whittingdale MP who was responsible for the review being moved out to make way for Chris Philip MP.

No official announcement has been made, however when the new boss took over the role Mr Philip did say that the white paper on gambling reform would be published in the coming months.
