Vermont Sports Betting Bill Moves Closer Than Ever Before

Vermont Montpelier
Vermont the only New England state not to legalise sports betting is moving in a positive way following the latest vote this time by the House Committee on Ways and Means who voted 11-1 in favour of progressing the bill.
VT sports betting bill H. 127 will now move to its third and final Committee approval and then make its way to the House and ultimately if successful Senate. This is the furthest any sports betting bill has ever gotten before in Vermont.
With Vermont the only state currently not legalising sports betting it seems although it is not hugely popular with lawmakers they see that with Massachusetts joining this month sports betting is inevitable.
Should bill H.127 make it into law it will allow for six sports betting apps, however there is no forecast in how much state taxes will receive from legalising sports betting in Vermont, State governor Phil Scott included in his annual budget projection for 2024 sports betting tax revenues of $2.6 million.
