{"id":44877,"date":"2021-03-11T09:09:02","date_gmt":"2021-03-11T09:09:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gaming-awards.com\/NEWS\/?p=44877"},"modified":"2021-03-11T09:09:02","modified_gmt":"2021-03-11T09:09:02","slug":"playtech-results-badly-impacted-by-pandemic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gaming-awards.com\/NEWS\/playtech-results-badly-impacted-by-pandemic\/","title":{"rendered":"Playtech Results Badly Impacted By Pandemic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-44878\" src=\"https:\/\/gaming-awards.com\/NEWS\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Playtech-Offices-300x188.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gaming-awards.com\/NEWS\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Playtech-Offices-300x188.jpg 300w, https:\/\/gaming-awards.com\/NEWS\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Playtech-Offices-768x480.jpg 768w, https:\/\/gaming-awards.com\/NEWS\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Playtech-Offices.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/igamingpost.com\/mattingley-leaves-888-for-playtech-chairman-role\/\">Playtech<\/a> has announced its full year earnings ending 31<sup>st<\/sup> December 2020, the <a href=\"https:\/\/igamingpost.com\/playtech-signs-us-licensing-deal\/\">company<\/a> posted revenue declines of 25% to \u20ac1 billion compared to \u20ac1.4 billion the previous year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The fall in revenues was felt across the company divisions with both B2C &amp; B2B falling because of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic with closures in retail.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In the B2B <a href=\"https:\/\/igamingpost.com\/playtech-investor-wants-new-chairperson\/\">business<\/a> the company saw a fall of 10.6% to \u20ac494.8 million compared to \u20ac553.9 million in 2019, this fall was attributed to retail closures mostly that impacted with a 51% decline in that area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">But B2C sector for <a href=\"https:\/\/igamingpost.com\/mattingley-leaves-888-for-playtech-chairman-role\/\">Playtech<\/a> also felt the pressure with <a href=\"https:\/\/igamingpost.com\/playtech-closing-in-on-sale-of-finalto-for-200-million\/\">revenues<\/a> falling to \u20ac596 million compared to \u20ac900.5 million the previous year representing a drop of 33.7%. Snaitech part of the companies B2C arm suffered a fall of 32% in revenues to \u20ac53.8 million due to the closure of its Italian business.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Mor Weizer Playtech CEO said on the results: \u201cThe attitude and skill of our people, and the strength and diversification of our technology-led business model has enabled us to deliver a robust financial performance in spite of the challenging backdrop.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cPlaytech also made significant strategic and operational progress by adding new brands, expanding existing relationships and entering new markets. We are particularly pleased with the excellent progress we have made in the US market, launching with bet365 and Entain in 2020, and signing milestone agreements with the Greenwood companies in 2021 to license our products in Michigan, Indiana, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cSnaitech has continued to excel in Italy despite the retail closures in 2020. Snai achieved the number one market share position in Italy across online and retail sports betting and grew its overall online revenue by 58% in 2020.
