\"\"Online gambling firms attracting Chinese<\/a> nationals who were hoping that the government would ease their chase of them have been disappointed. In an announcement late last week the Chinese government stated that they are doubling their efforts to block, arrest and detain any businesses that are offering online gambling<\/a> to its residents and also those firms that offer financial transactions to online gambling companies.<\/p>\n

Indeed the Chinese government said this is a major focus for them this year, an official spokesperson said that they would go after technology providers of gambling operators, payment platform suppliers and any businesses that promote online gambling<\/a> to Chinese players.<\/p>\n

A Minister said: \u201cWe must take the strongest measures to strictly control and break the soil for cross-border gambling, we must create a strong anti-gambling atmosphere.\u201d<\/p>\n

Back in August 2020 the government said it had drawn up a blacklist of countries that entice gambling to their nationals, however the list was not made public it is thought that, Philippines, Cambodia<\/a> and Vietnam were on the list.<\/p>\n

Beijing leaders say that some $155 billion leaves China each year through overseas gambling and want this to stop or at least reduce the outflow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
