With an impressive handle of $1.13 billion, the GGR revenue generated was a staggering $208.9 million. It is the third-highest revenue ever reported since sports betting began to be legalised across US states, showing just how well-received it has been in Ohio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"normal\" style=\"text-align: left\"><span lang=\"EN\" style=\"color: #1e293b\">The first two weeks of sports betting saw FanDuel claiming over half ($320 million) of the promotional credits issued across Ohio. This incredibly large sum was because FanDuel alone made up $169 million in the total amount claimed by different entities involved in Ohio&#8217;s sports betting launch. On top of this, retail sports betting also contributed an additional $23 million to the overall handle generated during this period. <\/span><span lang=\"EN\" style=\"color: #1e293b\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"normal\" style=\"text-align: left\"><span lang=\"EN\" style=\"color: #1e293b\">In addition, the Betr app, owned by American YouTuber Jake Paul, accepted just shy of $1.1 million worth of wagers since their real-money gaming feature went live on Jan 13th &#8211; a noteworthy milestone for Paul and his team as they look to expand their reach throughout the United States and beyond. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"normal\" style=\"text-align: left\"><span lang=\"EN\" style=\"color: #1e293b\">For those who don&#8217;t know, Paul and Simplebet founder Joey Levy co-founded &#8220;Betr,&#8221; a sports media and mobile betting business, in August 2022. In a series of promotional stunts, Paul claims to have received $50 million in financing for this project. Regardless of where the start-up money came from, stakeholders will be happy with the revenue generated by Betr.<\/span><span lang=\"EN\" style=\"color: #1e293b\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"normal\" style=\"text-align: left\"><span lang=\"EN\" style=\"color: #1e293b\">It wasn&#8217;t only online operations that managed to rake in the big numbers either; Hard Rock Cincinnati was identified as the most active retail sportsbook with a handle totalling up to $4.4 million. JACK had two properties display positive results, with around $5.1 million being taken in together, while Hollywood properties took home a total of about $7.2 million across four sites combined. <\/span><span lang=\"EN\" style=\"color: #1e293b\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"normal\" style=\"text-align: left\"><span lang=\"EN\" style=\"color: #1e293b\">With such impressive numbers being posted so soon after its launch, there&#8217;s no denying that Ohio is on its way to becoming one of the major markets for US sports betting going forward &#8211; having already outpaced Nevada and New Jersey within these initial two weeks alone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"normal\" style=\"text-align: left\"><span lang=\"EN\" style=\"color: #1e293b\">The Bottom Line<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"normal\" style=\"text-align: left\"><span lang=\"EN\" style=\"color: #1e293b\">Ohio&#8217;s sports betting launch has generated impressive numbers. With a handle of $1.13 billion and GGR revenue of $208.9 million in its first two weeks, this could become one of the major markets for US sports betting going forward.<\/span><span lang=\"EN\" style=\"color: #1e293b\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"normal\" style=\"text-align: left\"><span lang=\"EN\" style=\"color: #1e293b\">FanDuel led the way with promotional credits totalling $320 million, and the Betr app accepted over $1.1 million in wagers since it went live on Jan 13th.
