In January, physical slots accounted for $179.5 million in revenue, although this figure represented a decline of 11.2% compared to the previous year. Similarly, land-based table games revenue slipped by 13.4% to $72.7 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">While land-based gambling experienced a slight decline, the online gambling sector in Pennsylvania reported substantial growth in January. Revenue from online gaming reached $149.6 million, marking a notable 12.4% increase compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Among the various online gambling offerings, online slots emerged as the primary driver of this growth. Online slots revenue reached an impressive $110.0 million, representing a substantial rise of 22.0%. On the other hand, online table game revenue experienced a slight dip of 7.8% to $36.9 million, while internet poker revenue remained relatively stable at $2.7 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Hollywood Casino at Penn National continued to assert its dominance in the online gambling market, generating a total revenue of $50.5 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort secured the second spot with $41.6 million in revenue, followed by Rivers Casino Philadelphia, which brought in $29.5 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The sports betting sector in Pennsylvania witnessed a staggering surge in revenue during January. Total sports betting revenue increased by a remarkable 77.9%, reaching $69.9 million. This figure includes $66.0 million in online wagering revenue and an additional $3.9 million from the retail sportsbook market.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In terms of handle, which refers to the total amount wagered, January saw an 8.1% increase compared to the previous year. The handle reached an impressive $858.2 million, with players spending $808.8 million on online bets and $49.4 million at land-based locations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Valley Forge Casino Resort and FanDuel maintained their lead in the sports betting market, generating a total of $39.6 million in revenue during January. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows and DraftKings followed in second place with $19.0 million, while Hollywood Casino Morgantown and BetMGM secured the third spot with $3.6 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Apart from slots, table games, online gambling, and sports betting, Pennsylvania&#8217;s gambling industry also includes video lottery terminals (VLTs) and fantasy sports. In January, VLT revenue amounted to $3.0 million, representing a decline of 9.1%.
