Additionally, month-over-month cash betting activity rose approximately 6%, highlighting the diverse preferences among Ontario bettors.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">Ontario Sports Betting Revenue Hits $1.03 Billion in June<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Sports betting revenue in Ontario reached $78.60 million for June, marking a slight decline from the previous month.\u00a0By comparison, May generated $81.30 million in sports betting revenue, representing a 3% month-over-month decrease.\u00a0The province&#8217;s total online gambling revenue for June stood at $400.60 million, down 3% from May&#8217;s $413.10 million, which was the second-best month in Ontario sports betting history.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The revenue distribution across gaming verticals reveals the dominance of online casinos in the market.\u00a0Online casinos accounted for $9.50 billion, representing 75% of total revenue since the market&#8217;s launch.\u00a0Sports betting contributed $2.80 billion, comprising 22% of overall revenue, while online poker generated $259.70 million, making up 2% of the total.\u00a0Altogether, Ontario&#8217;s online gambling market has produced more than $12.60 billion in cumulative revenue since operators began serving the province.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Year-over-year data from the 2023-24 fiscal period showed betting gaming revenue of $588.00 million, reflecting a 36% increase over the prior year.\u00a0The fourth quarter alone generated $161.00 million in betting revenue, with annual wagering reaching $9.70 billion.\u00a0Further analysis indicates the second year of Ontario&#8217;s igaming market proved more than 70% larger than the inaugural year, with $63.00 billion in wagering and $2.40 billion in gaming revenue.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">Active Player Accounts Surge Past 1.3 Million<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Player engagement metrics revealed substantial growth in Ontario sports betting during the fourth quarter, with over 1.3 million player accounts registering activity.\u00a0These accounts, explicitly defined as those with cash and promotional wagering activity during the period, do not represent unique individuals as players may maintain accounts across multiple operators.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The monthly spend per active player account reached $263.00 in Q4, calculated using an updated methodology.\u00a0Ontario&#8217;s regulated online gambling market processed nearly $100 billion in wagers during 2025, with more than 1.3 million active accounts moving through sportsbooks, casino apps, and poker platforms during peak months.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The province&#8217;s market structure expanded correspondingly, with 49 operators now licensed, representing the most of any North American jurisdiction.\u00a0These operators provide more than 80 gaming sites and serve over 2.1 million active player accounts.\u00a0At the end of the second year of market operations, iGaming Ontario oversaw over $63.30 billion in total wagers, generating $2.20 billion in total gaming revenue from these 2.1 million player accounts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The multi-operator environment enables players to access diverse betting options, with the account structure reflecting the competitive landscape of Ontario sports betting.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">World Cup Drives Record-Breaking Sports Betting Activity<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The 2026 FIFA World Cup provided the primary catalyst for June&#8217;s exceptional performance, running from June 11 to July 19 across venues in Toronto, Vancouver, the United States, and Mexico.\u00a0The tournament represented a historic opportunity as the first World Cup hosted on Canadian soil and only the third to feature a Canadian men&#8217;s team.\u00a0A survey by Paysafe indicated 46% of Ontarians expected to wager on the tournament, with 9% placing their first bets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The expanded tournament format featured 48 teams and 104 matches, creating significantly more betting opportunities compared to previous editions.\u00a0BetMGM Canada reported a 71% increase in bets placed per match and a 73% increase in handle compared to the 2022 Qatar tournament.\u00a0Accordingly, the World Cup was projected to generate over $50 billion in wagers worldwide, surpassing both the 2022 World Cup and the record-setting 2025 Super Bowl.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Operators viewed the event as a critical acquisition window.
