The legal proceedings were initiated by the Danish Gambling Authority against the telecommunications operator Telenor. Danish Minister for Taxation Jakob Engel-Schmidt publicly supported the court\u2019s ruling, emphasizing the necessity of regulatory compliance. “If you want to play in the Danish market, you must also play by the Danish rules,” he stated in a written comment. Beyond licensing procedures, regulatory scrutiny has also focused on the nature of specific contracts offered by the platform. Polymarket allows users to wager on geopolitical events, including military conflicts. Addressing these markets, Engel-Schmidt remarked, “We’re talking about people losing their lives. About families losing their loved ones. About wars that destroy entire societies.
