The \u201ctechnical error\u201d meant that Ladbrokes were unable to pay out winning Grand National bets.<\/p>\n<p>The firm boasts they provide \u201cinteractive betting services 24 hours a day seven days a week\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesman David Williams denied that there were delays with all of the bets placed online.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cNot all the payments were delayed. There may have been isolated instances among the millions of bets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnly a very small proportion of our customers were affected, less than one per cent. We pride ourselves on providing a market-leading customer \u00adexperience and apologise to those affected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlong with several of our competitors we experienced some technical problems on Grand National day due to the very high volume of traffic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A Ladbrokes account holder, said: \u201cI placed a winning bet on Saturday and I had it settled 24-and-a-half hours after the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNormally, bets are settled in a minute or two, even on the big days. Many clients need their return to continue betting, so the knock-on effect would have been huge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But a full day after the National, Ladbrokes \u2013 who say they have 85,000 online customers \u2013 said sorry to those who had problems.<\/p>\n<p>The dailyrecord.co.uk reported that other bookies\u2019 websites \u00adstruggled to cope with \u201cunprecedented demand\u201d, which saw \u00a3200million placed on the Aintree race won by Daryl Jacob on Neptune Collonges.<\/p>\n<p>Paddy Power also had problems.
