The digital sector significantly stood out within Ladbrokes\u2019 results. In its statement, it outlined the following:<\/p>\n

Digital<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Momentum in customer acquisition with continuing double digit growth in digital sign ups and actives<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 22.4% growth in sportsbook net revenue driven by strong increase in stakes and increase in margin<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mobile now 20% of sportsbook amounts staked (Q4 2011: 15%)<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ladbrokes Bet in Play offering bets on more football matches than any other provider according to latest Gambling Compliance survey data<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 New website in live customer testing with full live launch set for May<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 New contract with Openbet enhances flexibility of development whilst further expanding games content<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Richard Glynn, Chief Executive, commented:<\/p>\n

“This\u00a0has been another period of progress for Ladbrokes. UK Retail saw another quarter of strong growth in\u00a0machines revenue. OTC staking remains resilient\u00a0and gross win margin, helped by a better Cheltenham festival, was at the upper end of our historical range. We have invested considerably more in digital marketing and customer acquisition remains strong.\u00a0We\u00a0are starting to see this drive growth in the topline, particularly in\u00a0the key focus area of UK\u00a0sportsbook which was up 22%.\u00a0Our football Bet In Play offer is now leading\u00a0the market\u00a0with up to 800 matches per week.\u00a0We are continuing to deliver on our\u00a0trading and digital\u00a0milestones with further developments expected in the coming months. As stated in February, we are confident of delivering Digital profit growth during the second half of the year as the benefits from our investments\u00a0converge. At this early stage of the year we are in line with the Board’s expectations for the Group in 2012.”<\/p>\n

The online sports betting sector of Ladbrokes also contributed to the 5.9% digital boost in the quarter.\u00a0 Ladbrokes had last year pulled out of talks to buy online gambling businesses 888 and Sportingbet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
