Wynn Resorts Expands Its Footprint with the Launch of Wynn Mayfair

Wynn Resorts has made a major move in the London gaming industry by completing the acquisition of Crown London, which was previously known as Aspinall’s. The acquisition has received the green light from the UK Gaming Commission and marks the moment for Wynn Resorts as it rebrands the venue to Wynn Mayfair. The acquisition not only enhances Wynn’s presence in Europe but also lays the groundwork for its expansion into the Middle East, particularly with the upcoming Wynn Al Marjan Island resort set to open in the UAE in early 2027.

The Significance of Wynn Mayfair

The transformation of Crown London into Wynn Mayfair signifies more than just a name change. It represents Wynn Resorts’ commitment to establishing a strong foothold in one of the world’s most competitive gaming markets. The venue, located at 27–28 Curzon Street, is housed in two historic townhouses and is recognized as one of London’s premier private gaming and dining establishments.

Wynn Mayfair boasts an impressive array of amenities designed to cater to an elite clientele. The property features:

  • 20 gaming tables strategically placed across the main floor, rooftop terrace, and six exclusive private salons.
  • The Bar and The Dining Room, which are now open to both members and the public, offering a selection of cocktails, fine wines, and classic British cuisine.
  • A rooftop terrace that provides an inviting space for outdoor dining, drinks, and gaming, enhancing the overall experience for guests.

The interior is adorned with exquisite antiques and artwork, creating an ambiance that reflects luxury and sophistication.

Strategic Expansion into Europe

The acquisition of Wynn Mayfair is a calculated move to bolster Wynn Resorts’ market presence in Europe. Craig Billings, CEO of Wynn Resorts, emphasized that this location serves as an extension of the Al Marjan casino floor. The strategic positioning of Wynn Mayfair allows the company to engage with a clientele that frequently travels between the UK and the Middle East.

Wynn Mayfair is designed to attract high-end customers, a demographic that is crucial for the success of the business. Billings noted that it does not take a large number of high-value customers to achieve a profitable return on investment. This focus on luxury aligns with Wynn Resorts’ brand identity and its commitment to providing exceptional experiences.

The Vision for Wynn Al Marjan Island

The Wynn Al Marjan Island resort is set to open its doors in early 2027, and the establishment of Wynn Mayfair is a strategic precursor to this launch. Billings highlighted that once the resort opens, 95% of the world’s population will be within an eight-hour flight of a Wynn property. This accessibility is expected to drive significant traffic to both Wynn Mayfair and the new resort.
