The Royal Commission in Western Australia State probing the suitability of Crown Resorts to hold a casino license has been extended and will not report back its findings now till March 2022.

Originally the Commission was due to report back in mid-November, but the allegations into misconduct by Crown go much further than expected and so the whole process will drag into the second quarter of next year.

Western Australia Premier Mark McGowan said : “The state government believes that public interest will be best served if the Perth casino Royal Commission has sufficient time to produce its final report.”

Crown Resorts have multiple inquiries into their suitability to run casino operations and were hoping that their Sydney casino resort which still has not been able to open their casino would be given approval before the end of the year. That is now not going to happen.

In other related news Star Entertainment which made an offer for Crown Resorts has now announced it has withdrawn from discussions as the casino rival said that there had been little or no communication from Crown Resorts on the proposed $9 billion merger offer.
