Macau Revenues Jump 450% Year on Year Comparison

The Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) reported the casinos gross gaming revenues (GGR) for April was the highest recorded month since January 2020 with MOP14.72 billion ($1.83 billion). The DICJ noted that with most travel restrictions now lifted the gaming industry is showing positive momentum.

This numbers represent a 450% rise compared to April 2022 and a 15.6% rise from the previous month of March. But the April GGR is still 62.4% of what revenues were before the pandemic and compared to April 2019 which stood at MOP23.6 billion ($2.94 billion).

On a running total for the year so far GGR stands at MOP46.36 billion ($5.75 billion) which is 141.4% up on the same total in 2022 where the full year of 2022 recorded MOP42.19 billion ($5.23 billion).
